Former projects

Over the years BREAD has worked with some amazing young people on a range of innovative projects, including:

Moving On Up

Between 2009 and 2011 BREAD worked in a consortium with Fairbridge West, the Kingswood Foundation and Youth Education Service to offer tailored opportunities for young people in Bristol who were NEET or at risk of becoming NEET.

v for volunteering

BREAD's v project offered 16-25 year olds the chance to work on a range of volunteering projects tackling issues that were important to them. Over 200 young people took part between 2008 and 2011.

UNITY celebrated the different cultures within Bristol through a mix of media projects, social action projects and peer education. Click here to see photos from the project and to read the blog created by young people and project workers.

Sexual Health Peer Education Project

BREAD trained young people to work as peer educators to go into schools and explore issues around sexual health and relationships with other young people.

Afrikan Culture and Identity Project

ACI offered young people of Afrikan descent opportunities to explore their heritage and chronicle the achievements of BME people throughout history. Activities included residentials to Spain and Ghana and the curation of an exhibition at the Empire and Commonwealth Museum about the transatlantic slave trade.
